This flower nail, which is supposed to be used for prepared decorations on a cake (hence 'flower' nail), is a metal disk held atop a nail by (in this case) a slipshod spot weld. It broke before it got to me, largely due to these rushed spot welding jobs that are done more often lately. I may be able to salvage it because I was only going to use it for distributing baking heat in a cake, so if I can push the nail through the disk at the point made weak by the sloppy weld, the disk and nail will still be a sink and channel for heat, but I would not recommend it for cake decorating, especially professionally.

The product is exactly like in the picture. It was true to the description size as well.
The head was surprisingly thin, though.
Out of the two that I bought, one of them broke during shipment. I ended up trying to return both for fear that the other would also break. The instructions were simple: send all the return purchases in the same container.
I confirmed that I could still return the opened one without the packaging.
In the end, I was only refunded for one of them.

Overall, this is a touch pricey for a flower nail of that size and durability. The return might not go smoothly since the product is very small.

I like that this came exactly as pictured - I love when you get exactly what you order!
I ordered this because I wanted to pipe individual soap flowers and it got the job done. The surface was just the right size, and the nail is thick enough to hold onto easily and it's sturdy.
Only reason I give it 4 stars is because I didn't realize it was a literal NAIL, and it was pretty sharp! It made me nervous to set it down somewhere or to toss it in with my other dishes in case I forgot and accidentally stuck myself. I wish it was flat or dull!

I ordered two of these. One came very bent. On the other, the top became unglued from the stem half-way through decorating a cake. If you manage to get one that is unbent, and do not make icing flowers regularly, then this may work, but otherwise I would find a higher quality brand.

I wish I'd read the reviews first, because I'm one of the many who received a bent, cheaply made flower nail. I don't believe at all that this is actually made by Wilton. The quality is embarrassing, and there's no way it's worth even 10 cents, let alone several dollars.

I have used this cake nail for cakes larger than 8" and have been really pleased with how it sped up the cooking process. Ive now purchased 2 more. Was a bit dubious if i would get the same result in a 12" fruit cake and was really pleased that these nails when used as a cake core to distribute heat really do work.
